Autonomous robot powered by Via EPIA mini-ITX motherboard

Posted on Oct 20, 04 12:58 AM PDT

"The Prodigies", a team of two young boys (15 & 20) has built this "robot" and plan to participate to the DARPA grand challenge. There's a $2 million prize for the winner.

The robot is controlled by a Via EPIA mini-ITX motherboard that's 120x120mm big.

To win the competition, the vehicle has to navigate on its own in rugged terrain, and it has to do it faster than the competition.

The DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is the branch of the Pentagon that finances top secret projects.

One of their big success is the F117 Stealth Fighter.
