IO Data "USB-CCD30S" QR Code-capable USB webcam

Posted on Oct 23, 04 01:40 PM PDT

IO Data will start shipping this "USB-CCD30S" QR Code-capable webcam at the end of this month.

What's new about this camera is that the software that comes with it is capable of reading the QR 2D Bar Codes.

Those bar codes are becoming popular in Japan, people even have T-shirts with them.

The camera by itself is rather good, as it has a CDD sensor (much better than the widely used CMOS).

USB-CCD30S Specs:
• 0.3 megapixel (640x480)
• 0.2" CCD sensor
• 10 fps @ 640 x 480
• 30 fps @ 320 x 240
• USB1.1
• 60 mm x 39 mm x 62 mm (WxDxH)
• 138 grams
• Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP
