Now that Firefox 1.0 is out, Mozilla is trying to place it everywhere, especially in PCs sold through OEMs (original equipment manufacturer, such as Dell).
Why? Simply because a large portion of PC users won't upgrade, it's easier to give them a PC with Firefox is already installed.
But the real next step is Desktop Search. With data growing at exponential rate, and storage also booming, the true issue is to find the information. Google, Yahoo, AOL and other major players are developing some form of Desktop Search technology. [more]
