Cellphones viruses, just like real viruses, are hard to detect if they "mutate". A change in the original code would be equivalent to a "genetic mutation", making it harder for anti-virus software to detect it.

The virus is mildly destructive, but it can drain the battery by using the Bluetooth Wireless Protocol to spread to other phones. The virus works on the Symbian Series 60 Operating System (OS). If you phone does not use this OS, it should be fine.
