Sony to unveil 4K Digital Projection Technology with Spider Man 2

For the first time, a major movie is going to be shown using Sony's "4K" Digital Projection System. "4K" designates the 4096 pixels resolution that each frame of the movie has on the horizontal axis. The 4096x2160 contains four times more pixels than the highest HDTV standard: 1080p (1920x1080 pixels). The projector is using the "Silicon X-tal Reflective Display" (SXRD) developed by Sony.
