Sony will definitely stay in the Plasma TV business

Dec 23, 04 01:32 AM PDT

Since last Monday, there is a total confusion about whether Sony will leave the Plasma TV market or not.

Sony has been denying the rumor since Monday, when it broke out in Asia. I guess that the denial was not convincing enough because people kept saying that they would stop making Plasma TVs.

Today, Sony has released another press release denying the rumor: "Sony has absolutely no intention of abandoning our plasma television business in the U.S. in 2005 or the foreseeable future. It has been a strong, viable line in both our consumer and professional display market segments this year, and we anticipate continued growth." (Sony)

We made up our minds on Monday anyways…
