Sprint launches streaming mobile music

 Sprint is launching a service that streams music to cellphones. Music Choice will be the provider of the content and Sprint subscribers will have to pay $6 per month to access the service.

Wireless network operators are struggling to find new applications that will bring new cash into their ever-falling margins.

While I think that receiving music or TV shows on the cellphone is cool, streaming it over the network is not the best way of doing it (at least today). TV sucks (think MobiTV) but music uses less bandwidth, so the quality might not suffer too much. Apple itself is looking into this in collaboration with Motorola.
