Sony is giving out a Universal Media Disc (UMD) with demos of videos, music and games (of course!) and the video quality is reportedly excellent. The movies are smooth and sharp on the beautiful screen of the PSP.
There have been rumors that Sony is planning to get into the movie rental market, once its PSP installed base would have a critical mass. In light of the movie playback quality, I start to believe it.
Sony's investment in the 16:9 (480x272 pixels) screen might pay-off big time. Some competitors have two screens, but I don't think that their solution is better. Oh and by the way, the PSP might also be a good Digital Audio Player…
