Apple has attracted a lot of attention last week with their Mac mini low-budget PC but Gateway is also launching their own line of cheap computers via eMachine, an affiliated brand.
The eMachines T3624 is the most affordable of them. It costs only $360 (after a $50 mail-in rebate). For this price, you get a machine that runs with a 2.66Ghz intel Celeron (low-end) processor, 60GB of hard drive, 256MB of memory and a CD-RW recorder.

It not much nowadays, but it could make quite a few people happy if they just want to use basic productivity software, e-mail and web-browsing. It comes with Windows XP Home and many other programs such as Anti-viruses. It's also quite tempting to get one to build a file server.
A $499 model is also available and packs a 2.93Ghz CPU, 512MB of memory and 80GB of hard drive. It's not as cute as the Mac mini, but it sure offers a good feature set.
