| Game Over for the Clie. Who's next? |
The clock was ticking for the PDAs, after a few rough years and a retreat from Sony and Sharp from the US market, Sony has announced the end of its Clie line of PDA.
The best PDA is the one that you have with you, and you will always carry a cellphone, because of its killer application: voice (shocker). Next target: the iPod?
"although this is the end of the CLIE platform, the concept of a 'portable entertainment information terminal' will continue" (Sony). It's sad because the Clie PDAs have been a great line of products. However, it is becoming increasingly hard for PDAs to resist the advance of smartphones such as the Treo 650 and others.
Expect Sony's Press Release to hit US shores soon...
