Ethernet Powered PC

The idea of having a computer powered by an Ethernet cable is quite interesting. The technology developed by DSP Design has a power limit of 15.4 watts, which is usually enough to power small devices such as surveillance cameras, but not computers.

That's why DSP design produced a computer, the Poet 6000 that uses only 12watts by carefully choosing the components, based on their power-consumption.

While this concept is not practical yet for consumer electronics, studies are being done to push the power limit of Ethernet to 35 watts, at which point it might be able to power a regular latop.
