The G-Book alpha from Toyota fits into the usual spot for a car navigation/entertainment system. However, it is much, much more than that. It is capable of communicating using EV-DO, a wireless 3G standard (2.4Mbps). Also, if there's a shock that triggers your airbag, the car will call the emergency services (I assume giving the GPS coordinates at the same time...). One can also preview and buy tunes... but my real question is: Can I share the EV-DO connection with my laptop? (Via akihabaranews)
