Styled with understated elegance in a new silver colour, Sony's new VAIO T2-series is a lightweight and ultra-portable laptop that could serve as a mobile office and personal entertainment centre for the discerning traveller.
Measuring just 272x205x34mm (1.38kg), the VAIO T2 includes a Pentium M 753 processor (1.2GHz), 512MB of system memory, Intel 855GME graphics chipset with 64MB of shared memory, 60GB hard disk, and 10.6in. WXGA (1280x768 pixels) display.
It also ships with 802.11b/g and Bluetooth wireless connectivity options, DVD±RW re-writer, 10/100 Base-TX, and a Memory Stick Pro slot. Sony claims a 7 hour battery life from one charge of its slim-line battery.
Pros: Compact design; X-black LCD; DVD recorder
Cons: Relatively expensive; not a dual-layer DVD recorder
