WinBook V220 Review [Bottom-line: ]

The WinBook V220 is a desktop replacement best suited for those on a budget and with little interest in any extras. It's a thick 8.4-pound laptop that's not designed for true mobility as much as it is for occasional shifts from room to room. This affordable luggable is best suited for basic tasks like e-mail, surfing the Web, watching DVDs, working with documents, and not much more.

The large 15-inch XGA screen makes it fairly easy to read documents and Web pages, but our DVD experience was less than stellar. Compared to brighter screens available on other systems in this price range, the picture looked slightly grainy. For their part, the speakers produce decent sound.

Publisher's note: why would you get such a mammoth while it's possible to find lighter laptop with equivalent features at a similar price point?
