Evergreen Corporation’s latest movie camera, the DN-DV320 records video in XviD/MPEG-4 formats, and comes with features like a 3 mega-pixel CMOS sensor. Costing aronud 17,800 yen, this movie camera is able to take still images in JPEG format as well like many other movie cameras that are flooding the market today.

2 resolution formats can be chosen while recording a movie – 640 x 480 or 320 x 240, with a maximum framerate of 30 fps. Audio is recorded at MPEG-1 Layer II 44.1.kHz/64kbps monaural levels. It disappoints with just 16MB of internal flash memory, but thankfully the SD card slot is there to improve on storage capacity. A cap of 512MB is imposed on the SD card being used, thus rendering newer 1GB and 2GB cards useless.

There is no viewfinder on the DN-DV320, and that can be quite frustrating because you do not get to preview the pictures that you have taken. The 2” TFT LCD works reasonably well, with the camera providing an 8x digital zoon function. Connectivity to a PC is achieved via the USB 2.0 port. You can view the system specifications here.
