Click to enlarge via KrunkerPepper is a word you would normally associate with food, but this technology innovator have released their Pepper Pad – it won’t add any taste to your Caesar’s Salad but it will definitely boost your productivity.
Don’t let its diminutive size fool you, the Pepper Pad is able to empower even the most demanding road warrior. It has built-in WiFi for fast Internet surfing at broadband speeds, Bluetooth for you to hook up with the latest Bluetooth-capable gizmos and gadgets, an expansion memory slot (SD card), and also USB connectivity.
Its innards are no weakling, with 20GB storage space powered by a Linux OS and a modified Web browser that shares roots with the open-source Mozilla code. Weighing 2.3 pounds, this foot long (width) device has a large and bright 8.4” color touch screen. A built-in keyboard is there for convenience, as with the stylus and 5–way directional pad.
The sealed battery runs at under a couple of hours before giving up its ghost. Some iterations are needed before this can be THE portable office device that everyone is still looking out for, but its a step forward in the right direction. Perhaps a refresh in a year’s time will see a piece of hardware that’s not to be sneezed at? (specs below)
