News trickled over from Dave’s iPaq that the Spectec MiniSD WiFi card can now work seamlessly with the HW6500. Such connectivity confirms the speculation that the iPaq’s miniSD slot is SDIO compatible. After loading the driver, all you have to do is to pop it in and you’ll have instantaneous WiFi access.
Both SD and miniSD WiFi cards utilize the same driver, while non-iPaq martphone users will have to download an additional driver in order to get everything up and running. It will take a few more weeks for the miniSD WiFi card to go on sale, but for those who cannot wait, the SD version is available now. (specs below)
