Scientists in British gas firm, BOC, have unveiled an eco-car that has the ability to go around the world utilising the same amount of electricity needed to power a light bulb. Nicknamed Ech2o, the hydrogen-powered eco-car consumes just 25 Watts (the same amount of power generated with less than 2 gallons of petrol) in order to complete a trip around the world. 25,000 miles with water as a byproduct of its 'fuel' - now that is something worth looking into before the world runs out of petroleum.
Made out of carbon fibre and aluminium, the Ech2o is capable of a top speed of 30 mph. Hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles are seen as a practical, attractive and viable economic alternative to present, more conventional petrol/diesel-fuelled vehicles in the long term. Read more about it here.
