Apple follows Microsoft with the mighty mouse

Apple launches its "Mighty Mouse", a device that they claim "reinvented the wheel", has a "revolutionary Scroll Ball" in short, it's the "The Mouse That Roared". I certainly appreciate Apple's move towards features that other operating systems and mice had for years, but I can only admire how Apple is capable of doing 180 degrees turns and still try to convince people that they've "reinvented the wheel". Unfortunately Microsoft did, in this case (in 1996 then 2003). From the scrooling capabilities to the side buttons, Apple can thank Microsoft for the good idea. (Reminds me of a mouse story involving Xerox)Don't get me wrong, there's a G5 and an iBook in our office, I'm not anti-Mac, but I was fed up to hear things like: "the Mac OS is so simple that one button is enough", "two buttons mice are for deficient OS". My own truth is: the right-click is awesome and it's about time to use it. Thankfully Apple did not design the human hand, otherwise we would have one-finger hands then realize how practical five fingers would have been... but one could argue: "Think different".
By the way, if you really want multiple buttons of your mouse, you can also plug a PC mouse... for less than $3. This “mighty” mouse will cost you $49 a pop.
