HP Mobile Messenger HW6500 review

Published on 08/25/2005

The HP Mobile Messenger HW6500 is here to threaten the Treo 650’s throne in the smartphone arena. It doesn’t sport the awkward looking keyboard of its ancestor, and the HW6500 slips in comfortably into any shirt pocket. Performance is solid with its 312MHz Xscale processor, 128MB Flash, 64MB RAM, GSM/GPRS/EDGE capabilities, Bluetooth, IrDA, miniSD slot, GPS, a 3” screen, and a 1.3 mega-pixel camera. The square 240 x 240 screen performs brilliantly. Although it works flawlessly in the Windows environment, compatibility with the Mac is dodgy. The HW6500 is a great alternative to the aging Treo 650. Be on the lookout for the HP iPaq hw6715 too! (specs below)
