Innovative SideWinder Review

At Ubergizmo we play a lot with our gadgets so much in fact that our only fear is the loss of power. The Innovative Sidewinder can be very useful in some situations: it could be the difference between a phone call and walking for miles on the road. A couple of minutes of charging will give you up to 6mn of talk (manufacturer's numbers). You can recharge indefinitely (as long as your hands can do it) if you need to. Think of it as a cheap emergency device for any situation where there's no electricity. The device also integrates a small LED light, which might be useful, like, in an earth-quake (hey, we're in California...). Continued below...
The device is somewhat noisy, but I guess that in an emergency you won't mind too much. I tried to use it for a few minutes on my T637 cellphone and it was charging. There are plugs for a number of phones (compatibility list).
A few ideas to make it better:
• More LED lights?
• On/off switch to the light.
• USB adapter because many devices can be charged over USB.
• Internal battery and solar panel to keep the unused energy and charge it in the wild.
From $19.95 at Sidewinder.
