Games Technology ported over to Convoy Trainer
Sep 9, 05 01:10 AM PDT

Zombie Studios has converted video game technology to develop a Convoy Skills Engagement Trainer for the Army. The $100,000 contract resulted in a 360 degree view of a virtual world represented by 6-8 screens. Trainees mount a real Humvee surrounded by the screens, and engage in various training missions. The goal is to train troops to help them identify improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and respond appropriately in tight situations. Incidentally, IEDs are the leading cause of death among troops in Iraq.
