Rumor: Dell to announce notebooks with built-in EV-DO technology
Posted on Sep 19, 05 12:41 AM PDT
Expect an announcement from Dell confirming the presence of built-in EV-DO within its upcoming Latitude series’ of notebooks. Verizon Wireless is the carrier of choice here, so you can count Sprint Nextel out. Currently in negotiation with other notebook manufacturers, Verizon Wireless is the market leader in total network size and has taken aggressive steps in expanding its EV-DO network. It is hoped that built-in EV-DO technology will be able to spread similar to how Centrino chips propogated WiFi to the masses.
