Rumor: EVDO BlackBerry 8700 imminent

BBHub website has an interesting news today: The rumor started last Thursday when athreya, a BlackBerryForums.com member, and the person who unveiled plans for the BlackBerry 7290 to the Forum, revealed that his (unnamed) organization tested the 8700. According to the source, it is the BlackBerry that has been code-named Electron. Athreya said that the new gadget will be released sometime in the next couple of month and will support Verizon, Cingular and SprintNextel networks. If the source is right, the BlackBerry 8700 will also have: • Built-In GPS • Built-In IM • 64 MB RAM • Native-attachment viewing (rather than the requirement for third-party solutions). Unfortunately, no Wi-Fi, no VoIP and no camera in this smartphone…
