Samsung´s Hand Warming prototype

Samsung’s prototype cell phone handset comes with a built-in hand warmer. Could this be a biproduct of bad engineering? We all know that electronics should be run in the coolest environment possible in order to be efficient. Maybe Samsung discovered that they could turn the flaw of overheated batteries to their advantage. Whatever it is, will this sell like hot cakes (pun intended) when released in the nether regions of Russia?
