Oct 7, 05 01:39 AM PDT

Samsung has released the world’s first Twintray DVD recorder, the SV-TR5550. It combines both functionalities of a DVD player and DVD recorder – a definite move that will make Hollywood executives squirm with fear. Its playback support is impressive, playing any DVD, MP3, and DivX. You can also record on DVD-R, DVD-RW, and DD-RAM formats via the direct duplication method that is accessed by a simple push of a button. A 2-hour film takes 20 minutes to copy. Pricing and release date have not been announced at press time.
