Sony hopes that this holiday season will see PSP sales surge, forecasting a total between 2.5 and 3 million. So far, there are over 2.3 million PSP owners in North America and Sony hopes to double the installed user base by the end of the year. In order to achieve this target, Sony has announced the PSP Giga Pack for $299, offering the normal PSP bundle with a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo thrown in. The $249 PSP Value Pack that comes with a paltry 32MB Memory Stick will still be available on shelves.
