Helsinki´s sewers threatened by toilet-disposed phones
Posted on Nov 17, 05 12:35 PM PDT

There's something in the water! Not quite as exciting as a giant shark, nevertheless still pretty darn strange. Mobiles phones are turning up more frequently in the sewage systems of Helsinki, Finland, so reports Helsinki Water who services over a million households. No figures in Finland were provided, but in UK 600,000 phones are flushed down every year. It is unknown whether the phones are accidentally or deliberately flushed (that would be a lot of accidents). Via theregister
