XLink Kai works with Xbox 360 Multiplayer

You can hold multiplayer sessions without hooking up to Xbox Live via XLink Kai. This means that games with system link mode can work their way through the huddled mess of the Internet and hook up with other XLink Kai users. This might save you at least $5 a month, but it also means losing the ease of use that comes with subscribing to Xbox Live. 360 Insider via Make
