Apples on the (legal) offensive in Korea

While Apple is enjoying quite a success with its iPod line in most countries, it is not the case in Korea. Over there, Apple has only 8.6% of the market, while iRiver commands a 41.5% share. The obvious solution that Apple found to change that situation is to ask Iops (a competitor) to stop making and selling their product that Apple accuses to be a pale copy of the iPod mini.

First of all, I don’t think that this looks anything like an iPod mini, except that it has headphones plugged to it. Secondly, the Iops Jock player has more features than the mini: video & FM radio among others. So now, do you really think that Korean consumers are mistaking the Iops for a mini? Not a chance.
