Fingerprint readers fooled by Play-Doh fingers

Fingerprint scanning devices that use optical cameras to take images that are ‘read’ by a computer later are easily fooled by casts from live fingers via Play-Doh molds. A collection of fingers from corpses were also used in lab during testing. Scientists systematically tested more than 60 fake samples to garner an astonishing 90% false verification rate.
