yes i have the phone with t-mobile u just need to call t-mobile customer service and have then configure it by telling then u need ur motorola a1200 configured for their services.

The A1200 bought in China dec 2006 worked for 2months and the screen no longer reads the stylus! tried to get help for repairs in UK&Europe but to no avail,Uganda home state, please any advice its still new and intact,thanks.

If you live in Chicago you can purchase this phone and several non U.S. market phones at Western and Devon. I bought mine for 300 U.S. Dollars. You can haggle the price but dont expect too much of a discount.

i have this phone and i think it is quite very good. you dont need office to view your files like ppt, word and other microsoft office files.
you can use it as usb mass storage device like flash drives/disks. u really dont have to install the cd just to see the files in your phone.
it has 2 megapixels camera which is good enough. it has a macro camera option where u could focus more on the more closer objects when taking a picture. unlike other phones with digicam in which when an object is closer to the lens of the cam then the pictures gets blurred but with this phone, u can use the macro camera and u will not have that blurred picture.
it has a very good resolution and it wont strain your eyes. very friendly user. and if im going to rate this phone with 10 being the highest and 1 as being the lowest, i would rate it as 9.9/10.
why 9.9 and not 10? i guess the .1 should go to its cons which is u need both of your hands to use this phone. but i dont think thats a big problem. right? except for those driving.
but i love this phone. ^L^

I took the plunge and got one. It arrived today. It's got to be one of the most attractive and functional phone available. As long as you remember it's a phone and not a PDA, you won't be disappointed. I was able to download an English manual in PDF format.

You can find the motorola a780 and a1200 on ebay. The a780 is currently sold for around 250 and the a1200 is sold for around 500$.

Got the A1200 yesterday. The voice dialing function doesn't work. Does anyone know how to store the command to dial the number already stored in the memory? The manual said to hold the VR key but the same action is to bring up the voice recorder. Very frustrated.

I got it yesterday (US$540 + s&h). It worked fine with T-mobile service (actually reception is better then the phone I got through them (it was pretty ancient hoever an Ericsson T-28 world)

Just got the A1200 yesterday. So far so good. Very impressed with the screen resolution, and navigation seems intuative. Music sounds good through the headphones and decent enough through the tiny speaker phone. Picture quality is fine (but still 2MP - i.e. really need 3MP to replicate print quality)
Sychronization with outlook seems okay (but I will have to clean up my outlook as any entry with no name (i had over 100) needs a specialy "click" with the mouse).
The reveiws I've read on it have been very accurate so far.
One thing to consider is that one really needs two hands to operate it. Was trying to turn off the reminder alarm and drive 80mph on a California freeway today and got very frustrated. I'm moving to HK (and giving up my cars) so it's not a big deal for me, but for heavy drivers it is definetly something to consider. Note that I've not set up the voice commands yet, which could be an interesting option.

I just bought a A1200 from China. I thought it will be easy to just plug in the SIM card (with Cingular). It worked yesterday when I first time used it. But it doesn't work today. Anyone have suggestion? It is not the SIM card or the number's problem, I can use it if I switch back to my old phone.
