Starnex’s new portable security system, the Self Guard SG-310 was designed for Army use. Any gun hooked up to this device will transfer video clips to the commander via a Bluetooth connection, enabling the commander to have a first-person-view of the battlefield. This will enable a better decision making process that could potentially save lives and increase battlefield efficiency… on paper (cough). Via AVING.net

Finally,

Lets all say 'Aliens'... can just imagine that scene again when half the squad get wiped out by the aliens.

You know that a few years later they'll be selling the footage aka 'Soilder, Camera Action' like the police do haha

Live action on CNN, we've got to get cameras in the Bullets as well :)

I can picture the "No devices found" message in the middle of the action.

Given the massive security risk that is the bluetooth wireless protocol, I'm amazed that it's being used for such a device. Long-range reception of bluetooth signal is possible with a crude and cheap bluetooth "gun" that can be made by any hobbyist; this surely opens up a wide range of security issues.

As an Army officer with over 18 yrs of service and multiple combat deployments, I would say this has the potential to be one of the worst pieces of micromangement ever invented... Imagine being the soldier that isn't allowed to shoot until his commander sitting miles away is able to confirm the target -- not on this soldier watch. It would break at the first opportunity.
