Sony’s Aibo dies at age 7
The once famous robotic $2000 dog that can dance, play and interact with its owner will no longer be produced. Sony has promised to support each generation of Aibo until it reaches its seventh birthday. Sad or furious fans are worried that replacement parts will be difficult to obtain in the future. It seems that the profitability of the Aibo was not good enough to justify its existence. Sony also needs to pull all its resources to counter pressure from stiff competitors in every single consumer market. Via Mercury News
