Motorola Q UnderGoes Verizon Testing
Posted on: February 28, 2006

Sources say that the Motorola Q will be undergoing a "Friendly-User" testing starting next week. With that and a few extra things to be taken care of, we should be seeing the Q sometime in April. Via noDRM

if you like verizon, try to download info from phone to comp. all you will get is your phone directory and no music or ringer downloads to comp. i have the mot 700 and cable and software but it is no good since verizon blocked everything else thanks. if i had this phone on cricket or someone else everything would work.

Still more chatter around the launch and service provider of the Moto Q smart phone. Hearing T-Mobile now......anyone ?

Had it with one year launch...that's still a non-launch. Wanted it. Don't anymore.

Aero - its not that cdma takes longer, its just as you said GSM phones are quicker to produce. this is because the cellular phone companies are almost all european and japanese. therefor as GSM or variations of it are the primary carriers overseas where phones first comeout, very little testing is needed to be done to conform to us GSM standards, as opossed to CDMA where they completely need to redo the phones cellular structure, for CDMA optimized data output.. think of it like everyone in europe and has a pc with windows xp, now all of the us runs power pcs with macintosh osx, to make that windows run on the power pc, they need to recode the source from its original type (x86) to the power pc architecture. its the same sort of thing, eventually verizon plans to do away with the technology (just as sprint plans on doing away with the older tdma based nextel network *thats why your service s***ks and is insecure!* and is soon (09) moving to variations of future gsm like services..
i hope that clears it up a bit, sometimes i jumble my examples :(

I wonder about the difference between cellular carriers sometimes. In the case of Verizon and Sprint (CDMA), new phones seem to take a literal eternity to go from "testing" to saleable. In the case of Cingular, TMobile (GSM) the phones come so fast and furious that there's a new one each week.
Is GSM just easier for carriers to add new phones to, or do GSM carriers simply not test their phones very well...
I'm torn between hating CDMA carriers for their lack of cool new phones and praising for testing that they work well.

gee. as opposed to "user-friendly" test, i supposed "friendly-user" is to test how smart, or un-dumbass the end users are. lmao.
