iFriend Notebook

iFriend Notebook
Taking an opportunity to cash in on the cool factor the i- prefix holds for people, Korean company Hyunju have launched a notebook named, very disconnectedly, the iFriend. Pleasantly enough, the notebook sports a nice simple design with average specs of a 12-inch screen, 1.73GHz Pentium M740 CPU, 512MB RAM, 60GB HDD and DVD Burner. A nice counter to the twitch that the name iFriend might have brought on. More information available from Hyunju.

I have a later version with Athlon 2.4G XPM it seems ok but only has 256M menory and no spare slot! - although it also claims to be an NA243rx5. low battery life but it was cheap from Sterling management. Anyone know if the memory is upgradeable in this one?

I too, have an i_friend NA243rx5. I am trying to upgrade the memory to 1Gb but although the machine has 2 slots, only one is connected! So I am being forced to buy a single 1Gb module at horrendous prices. The i-Friend does what it says on the box, but you get what you pay for!

:|I have owned an ifriend notebook for 2 years and have always used the mains cable.Sometimes it would be easier to be cable free so I thought I would try the battery already installed which had never been removed.I followed the instructions for charging but nothing happens. The battery is a product of gpbatteries.com.hk. DR202. MVDR202A-5400mAh S/N 261473.
Yours Sincerely

From my investigations in trying to get an I-Friend repaired under guarantee I have been advised that the importer Seltech Holdings are refusing to honour repairs as I-Friend have withdrawn from the UK market.
Seltech Holding who had a repair depot at Hook have deserted the premises and Have left no way of contacting them
If anybody knows any different please could they let me know. :(
