Lenovo 3000 C100 notebook offers good value
The £599 Lenovo 3000 C100 notebook offers a great suite of dummy-proof productivity tools that help keep the notebook in optimal operating condition without any intervention from the user. The one-button system recovery makes light the threat of a possible virus or malware attack. Unfortunately, the C100 lacks the functionality and design of a ThinkPad. The screen offers below average performance and there might not be enough power to make it obsolete-proof for at least a year. More specs after the jump. • Intel 915 GM Chipset (Pentium M or Celeron M)

• Bluetooth connectivity
• 10/100 Ethernet
• V.92 mode
• Integrated microphone and stereo speakers
• DVD-R drive
• 3-in-1 memory card reader (Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SD, MMC)

So, let me get this straight, Lenovo, an otherwise unknown brand in the west, buys arguably the grand poobah of premium laptop brands, and then heads straight downmarket with it, strips the computers of all of their unique features and halfasses it on the designs? this is THE WORST IDEA EVER.

I want my old IBM thinkpads back, oozing high end everything, rock solid performance, and business class quality.

This is like Hyundai buying the Mercedes nameplate and slapping the three pointed star on a Sonata.
