BenQ unveils the BW1000 Blu-ray writer

A collaboration between Philips & BenQ Digital Storage resulted in the BenQ BW1000 Blu-ray writer. The BW1000 uses the most advanced Philips triple-laser optical pick-up unit that enables Blue-ray Disc read/write capabilities and read/write compatibility with existing DVD and CD formats. The innovative design results in a flexible architecture that allows for future speed improvements and greater product versatility. Its ability to provide more than 50GB of capacity recording on an optical disc is bound to make it obsolete proof for quite some time to come.
