QuaNext network LCD TV ships with Pentium 4 and Linux
Quataris is developing the 19" QuaNext networked LCD TV that runs on a modified version of SUSE Linux. The QuaNext offers a maximum resolution of 1440 x 990 and has a 3.2GHz P4 processor at its core. Since you can switch between the PC and TV via a remote control, this would be the ideal solution for situations where accomodating a separate PC is less than ideal. Its DVD drive doubles up as a DVD player in TV mode. Quataris also squeezed in a multimedia center software suite that handles music, photos, and videos with finesse into a 3" deep unit. Shipping details are unconfirmed as at press time. Check out the specs after the jump. • Pentium 4 (Prescott) processor clocked at 2.8, 3.0, or 3.2GHz
• Up to 2GB DDR400 (PC3200) RAM
• 220GB 7200rpm hard drive
• CD/DVD slim combo drive, slot-in
• 19" TFT LCD display
• Built-in Intel GMA 900 graphics chipset
• 10/100 LAN port
• IR and USB 2.0 connectivity
• PAL and NTSC (other formats on request)
• Dimensions: 18.5" x 15.7" x 3"
