The MacBookPro is faster under Windows
Posted on Apr 7, 06 07:08 PM PDT

Macbidouille points out that Apple will expose itself to direct comparisons between Windows XP and Mac OS X, now that their hardware works with both. A few benchmarks popped and the results are not very favorable to Mac OS: OpenGL is said to be 40% faster on Windows. Another test with Cinebench also revealed that Windows is faster. Of course, the OpenGL test has more to do with the driver (Apple writes it, I think) than the Mac OS, however, users won't care where it's coming from... Expect to more comparisions in the near future.

I have used Blender 2.41 both on OSX and Windows XP and my impression is very good in MacOS. Rendering is so much faster. In windows I used sse2 optimized version results was again not faster. ;)

Hmm, if you look at the result on the link below you can see that higher render speed in Cinebench under OSX while OpenGL results are faster under Windows.

It didn't look like there was much to read on the Source link, but I'm very interested in hearing more on this.
