I had the same issue about 2 years ago. After countless phone calls I found a reboot SD card from a manager named Brit Moore at Polaroid who was in charge of the GPS division. I have held on to it like gold because I don't know any other way of fixing the GPS. Hope the number still works. 800-605-5364

I bought a poloriod mgm 0550 at around $400.00 and need a new dash board mount.
I called poloroid and they don"t have any and don"y make them any more.
This part is about 3 to 4 dollars and without it the gps will not set on the dash.
I also took out a extra 2yr. warrenty and when I called poloroid said theyre only good for the first year.
If you have one good luck if it breaks down.

My wife and I bought the Polariod DVD/Navigation system from Sam's Club a couple years ago. The unit works as designed very well but the mapping information that is preloaded was 5 years old when we bought it. Meaning, the information is now 7 years outdated. For two years I have complained to Polaroid and I received the same answer every time I called. "They are working on an update and it will be available next month". This is the answer that I got for two years now. I finally talked to a very nice person at polariod who gave me the truth. There is not ever been and will never be an update because they are not producing the unit anymore. I wish I had of known that 2 years ago. Thanks Polariod for finally telling me the truth!

We have the same problem with it going into Windows screen - NOT WORTH the money. Unreliable product, I can't believe that any reputable company would sell such a consistent lemon!

in answer to the problems experienced with the polaroid unit, i went all the way to the top at polaroid after returning my unit this spring. i received a replacement just a couple of weeks ago. i was told by polaroid that there was a problem with the interface between the mapping software and the software that runs the unit, i.e. windows ce, i believe. they were supposed to be having them reprogrammed. so far, mine is working. the first one failed in three days. we will see.
