Thomas, considering the features the PS3 has now, how much do you think they should sell it for? Cell tech, Nvidia RSX, Blu- Ray....would you rather buy a PC with these specs? How much would that cost? Hmmmmm

It's not very good really, they haven't actually changed anything more than the graphics. The controller is exactly same as teh original Playstation controller, this is why I like the Wii better. And the price of £400 is not nice, in fact it's a rip off. Sony if you make a console that expensive, at least make it worth it.

So many people are complaining about the PS3's price. When you look at it, i think it's really a great deal! You get a PS1, PS2, DVD player, Blu-ray disc player and the most advanced console available for $600.00! HDMI output! Sure alot of people don't have compatible HDTV's, but the one's who do surely appreciate this and now have great use for the TV's feature. I know I do! I applaud Sony for truly going next gen. Whenever a new graphics card is released the price is astounding, but that's the price you pay for the latest and best technology. I own an Xbox 360 and my Xbox library is way larger than my 360's, yet Microsoft's promise on backward compatability is severely lacking! GTA3 runs at what? 5fps? NFSU2 runs both widescreen and 4:3? 10fps! That's ludicrious! Sony has 3rd party support, software, reputation ad complete dominance! Sony has my vote! And those people who are crying about the prices, sell your PS1, sell your PS2, that'll give you about $200.-250. Good now you got a PS3 for $400. You cant go wrong with that!

"I want to be able to use the PS3 as a complete desktop computer replacement. That means photo editing, word processing, spreadsheets, as well as games. At 33 is there a place me the dual-use user in Sony's plan. I know about the Linux operating system pre-installed on the hard drive, but just how far can it go in regards to managing my websites and accessing my online services through IE or FireFox? Now wouldn't that be worth $600?"
...He says whilst typing on his *PC*

The PS3 ,when released, will be a far more intertaining device. So if the "graphics" are similar, when has that ever truely made a difference. You can take a Kia Rio and put a fresh paint job, and pointless loud muffler on it and it is not a race car. FFvii is still considered one of the greatest(not just because of PS), and it is 3 generations old now. Games, Games, Games!! So even if all the games look, play, and are pretty much equal on all consoles, then what? Console specific oddities then take charge in the war of winning sales numbers. Ps3 vs. XboX 360 equal, then what is left to debate(beside price a plus to XboX, content a plus to Ps3)? Really, one small factor still something that is not debatable=Blu-Ray.Google Blu=Ray vs. HD-DVD and read the info for yourself. Sure I ask myself if the Ps3 is nothing more than a jump to market medium for blu-ray, but honestly good. Blu-Ray is far superior to HD-DvD, and that isn't speculation, but a wide known fact. What ever Sony's motives for Ps3 Blu-Ray inclusion, it is an edge Xbox, Wii, for now even Pcs, will have to compensate for. Once again Sony will dominate(no fanboy s--t), simply because they have the forsight to appeal to a general audiance, yet retain edginess. Really though who cares, lets get the game on. j
