Bullet-proof iPod casing?

Published on 06/26/2006

iPods are extremely lovable products, but the one thing against them is their frailty. An iPod-obsessed Japanese lad saw his iPod crushed against the handrail of a crowded subway train and decided to come up with a homebrew solution. After purchasing a new iPod, he cobbled together an iPod case made from 5mm Aluminum A5052. This unidentified iPod fan claims that this type of alloy can even stop a .22 bullet. Both halves of the case are kept in place by M3 Hex bolts. Unfortunately, such protection comes at the expense of portability as the case weighs in at a hefty 450 grams. Perhaps 50 Cent should get one instead of wearing a bullet proof vest.
