Internet generation students think plagiarism is OK

Students raised on the Internet find nothing wrong with by passing up other people's work as their own, according to a professor at Leeds Metropolitan University. The Internet is a treasure house of knowledge that makes it too easy for students to copy and paste original work, submitting in a loosely paraphrased version as their own. The plagiarism diseases can be countered by introducing punishment as a form of deterrent, changing the assignments to reflect the involvement of personal knowledge and skill, or revamping the current working culture amongst students. Perhaps this is the very same mentality that encourages software piracy around the globe?
