Ricoh 16x DVD+R uses VCPS technology
Published on 06/21/2006

Ricoh has introduced the 16x DVD+R VCPS drive that enables you to burn a copy of a DVD using the Video Content Protection System (VCPS) technology that prevents data theft (video only). Unfortunately, the prerequisite includes burning a special key on the DVD and it must use either a HP or Philips DVD player/burner. Sounds very much like an unholy trinity to the consumer. Read more about it in the Japanese press release.
