Alt + F4 for Windows 98
Published on 07/11/2006

Microsoft has pulled the plug on its Windows 98 operating system, urging around 70 million users of the OS to upgrade to the newer Windows XP. There won't be any support or security updates available for this ageing operating system from today onwards. This shut down comes after the initial proposal by Microsoft to end support for Windows 98 in 2003 saw a massive customer protest. The affected products include Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (Millennium Edition). Anyone using Windows 98 after July 11 will face heightened risks since security loopholes are no longer fixed.
