Helio Video projects mid-air images
Published on 07/27/2006

Video projection takes a step toward the future with the Helio Display that enables you to watch video in thin air using a modified projector. The visual source can be from a notebook, digital camcorder, or even the TV, but these images are not holographic but free space. What you see is a floating image or video in hanging in mid-air. There is no physical depth reference, so these 2D images actually looks as if they are in 3D. The Helio Display is able to project 30" diagonal images in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. You will have to choose a dark background to get the best effect though. Each display costs a whooping $20,000.
