Visually impaired to receive PDA
The Kurzweil-National Federation of the Blind Reader has developed a device that consists of an amalgamation of a digital camera, a PDA, text-to-speech software, and character recognition software in order to improve the lives of the visually impaired. Just hold the device over some text and it will play back the contents of the text in a clear, synthetic speech. The price for such innovation is at a hefty $3495, which could be out of reach of most visually impaired people, what more those living in third world countries. ( Add a comment)
