Published on 08/16/2006

Parents who are worried that their kids might play truant would want to consider the Locate 1. The Locate 1 functions via GPS and utilizes MicroTRAKgps to give you the bearings of the tracked subject. Since all data is transmitted back to a server wirelessly, you can view the exact location of Junior via the Internet. An interesting feature included is the ability to set speed limits or zones, where an alert will be sent to you in the event where the tagged subject crosses the speed limit or wanders out from the designated territory. Data is updated half hourly, and summaries of the day's activities are available for your perusal. The Locate 1 is extremely portable, making it easy to sneak into a car trunk or a bag pocket. Each Locate 1 unit costs $500 which includes the activation and monthly service fees.
