Magellan has a new GPS handheld in the form of the eXplorist 500 LE that can run on AAA batteries just in case the built-in rechargeable li-ion batteries are exhausted during your extra long treks. The waterproof eXplorist 500 LE also boasts features that will come in handy when you engage in specific outdoor activities such as fishing/hunting times, and a sun and moon calculator. It is equipped with a 2.3" high resolution color display, a SD card slot, and measures 4.6" x 2.1" x 1.3". If only the ancient Egyptians had these - they would have an easier time predicting when the Nile would flood.
